You announced in https://www.general-ai-challenge.org/gradual-learning, that you will not give the full promised prize money, but only 14% of it.
Can you please reconsider and award the full 50.000 EUR? (I have no benefits from this, as my team did not send competitive solutions, nor do I have any relations to other teams)
You claim to have reserved 5m EUR in prize money, yet you break your promise of even giving 1% of this, the 50k EUR, in Round 1.
Examples for specific action, that you can take:
(1) Andreas Ipp’s qualitative solution should get the 1st qualitative prize
(2) The agent with the 25% correct rate should get the 1st quantitative prize
Regarding (1): This is clear. You have chosen the winner, by awarding him more than others (the NVIDIA graphic card). Why not give him price 1? Your rules say "for the idea… that shows the best promise”. The word “best” is relative to the other submissions.
Regarding (2): You reason that you don’t give the prize because the rules said: "solves all evaluation tasks in the shortest number of simulation steps”
This reasoning is intellectually dishonest. The sentence was obviously incomplete, as you can’t give 3 prizes based on this description. With the same reasoning, if 3 solutions had completed all evaluation tasks with 1000, 100, 10 steps, you could have said, that you don’t award prize 2 and 3, because they “did not solve the evaluation tasks in the shortest number…”. Implicitly, in giving 3 prices, there are additional obvious rules on how you are going to award those.
Furthermore, you probably know yourself, that you have a legal obligation to give away prizes as specified.
Can you please comment if you can internally discuss reconsidering the prize distribution?
